OutBox: An Intranet Publishing Tool

OutBox offers Web-based collaboration by integrating Web publishing and serving into the Desktop environment.

When your system is running OutBox, a personalized OutBox page is automatically generated. Use an HTML editor such as CosmoCreate to customize this page. The OutBox page serves as a framework for organizing and presenting information that you want to share with other people on your intranet.

Accessing Your OutBox Page

When you first logged into your system, a personal OutBox page was created for you. You can view your OutBox page with your Netscape browser by selecting Internet > Browse OutBox Page from the Toolchest.

Features

OutBox automatically generates a web page for each user on the system. You can edit these pages as you would any other web pages. OutBox also lets you share files (media files or documents) within a multiplatform organization.

The Publish button allows you to publish files or directories on any OutBox page. After publishing a file, hit 'Reload' to view the results. All files published with OutBox can be viewed or downloaded by anyone connected to your network.
